President’s Letter

Alumni and Friends,

Past greatness is prologue at Morgan State University, and not only as evidenced by the legacy architecture that anchors our Academic Quad. Yes, the striking, new modern facilities now rising from the historic elegance of our campus, the National Treasure, are impressive in themselves, as many of you have noted, but they also represent Morgan Momentum: our increasing excellence in the many areas of endeavor you will read about in these pages. 

From the culture of success being re-ushered by our first woman athletic director; to our record high student enrollment; to the passing of the baton by our legendary longtime director of bands; to our academic programs that are also effectively serving Baltimore communities, Morgan Momentum is moving our institution boldly into the future, as we continue to build on the preeminence of our past. And our momentum is doing more: propelling our groundbreaking research into urban inequities and the natural environment; guiding the professional achievements and philanthropy of our alums, whose activism has helped make our current growth possible; and advancing the achievements of our students who are reaching for and touching the sky.
